Saw some cracking bikes at this years DGR.

For the last 5 years me and Daz, together with various folk from around here, have ridden the Sheffield DGR. This year, as Rich had decided to bow out after putting together 5 amazing rides, we thought we'd try the Nottingham run. The starting point was the Triumph factory at Hinkley for coffee and pastries (and a gander at some splendid machinery) followed by a ride up the back roads past Mallory Park to Pidcock's Triumph in Long Eaton. As well as Mrs Benchdonkee we were joined by Nick and Marie who had decided it would be a top idea to join us as we were  several pints of real ale into a Saturday night. Nick rode my '47 AJS  (never having ridden British before) and Marie went on her Honda Grom, the furthest she'd ridden in 20 years and both had a wonderful time! When we arrived at Pidcock's we were treated to live music, plates of sandwiches and cakes. I must admit that initially I was a little unsure of the over Triumphisation of the ride, but was very impressed with the way it was organised and the hospitality was second to none. Oh, and Nick won top prize in the raffle, a rather snazzy jacket!
